“‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.’ This is the Lord’s declaration.”
— Isaiah 55:8
If you are around children for any length of time you will quickly find out that they really like asking questions. Why are you giving this to me? Where are we going? What is in that cabinet? Why do I have to be nice to her? Why is the sky blue?
I don't even know how to answer some of their questions. Sometimes it is super frustrating because I will be extra focused on a task and they NEED to know how water comes out of the faucet. Right now!
You know who does not get frustrated at all of our questions but rather welcomes them? God! He tells us in Isaiah 55:8, "‘For My thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not My ways.' This is the Lord's declaration."
There are some questions to life that cannot be answered; questions that only God knows the answers to, but that does not mean we cannot still ask. God is big enough, powerful enough, all-knowing enough, and loves you enough to listen to your questions no matter how many times you ask. Sometimes we have the most growth in our lives and spiritual walks when God answers us with a "No," because Christ is enough for us.
Through your questions and His answers, and through your daily conversations, God is teaching you to trust Him. He loves when you ask Him questions because you are learning more about Him. If you ask in faith, you are learning who you are in Him and who He is in you.
Are you looking for answers but not asking questions?
I challenge you to ask God your difficult questions. Talk to Him. He may not be able to answer right now, but keep asking. Keep talking. Keep the faith. Sometimes no answer is the best answer, but one day all of our questions will be answered!
